چکیده

The study evaluated the yield and biochemical attributes of eight sugarcane (Saccharum officinarum L.) cultivars (CoPb-18211, CoPb-18212, CoPb-18213, CoPb-18214, CoPb-19211, CoPb-19212, CoPb-19213 CoPb-19214) in saline non-saline soils during 2019–20 at Punjab Agricultural University, farms village-Ruldu Singh Wala (Bathinda) village-Ratta Khera (Sri Muktsar Sahib). Soil salinity significantly (P<0.05) decreased plant height (by ~66.6%), tillers/plant (~36%), cane diameter ground surface (~79.8%) breast (~93.1%) than soil. TSS content juice ~7.1%), sucrose (~55.6%) titratable acidity (~11.0%) Juice purity showed large variation (37.9-98.7%) soil (88.9–96.4%), was lowest for highest CoPb-18214. Sugar recovery by ~21.4% Average gross returns were higher compared with others. Mean economic efficiency 7.78 US$/ha/d 9.13 US/ha/d ~17.2% increase

Assessment Nutrient Absorption of Sugarcane (Saccharum Officinarum L.) Genotypes under Saline Situation

In order to study the effects of salinity levels of the irrigation water resulted from the sugarcane field drainage which contained mineral salt (NaCl), four salinity levels (0, 3, 6, 9 ds.m-1) and sugarcane genotypes (C4, C5,C3, CP48-103, C2, CP57-614, CP69-1062) in a potted plant were examined. It was a factorial experiment in randomized complete block design with three replications which was...

The Effect of Oil Meal as a Micronutrient Fertilizer in Saline and Non-Saline Soils

A significant amount of the oil meal is produced annually in the oil industry. Oil meal addition into the soil can improve the soil organic matter and micronutrients concentration. This study was conducted to investigate the effect of olive, sesame and black cumin meal (0, 2 and 5 g 100g-1 soil) on the soil Cu, Zn and Fe concentration in saline and non-saline soils by a greenhouse experiment. T...

Extractability of heavy metals in saline and non-saline soils treated with municipal wastewater under two contrasting moisture regimes

Solubility and bioavailability of heavy metals are important with respect to theirtoxicity. The discharge of municipal wastewater in soil and surface waters can affectbioavailability and mobility of heavy metals in soils and sediments. The effect of dischargeof Arak municipal wastewater on the KNO3 and DTPA extractable heavy metals in a salinesoil sampled from Mighan playa (Iran) compared to a ...

Genetic diversity and relationships in native Hawaiian Saccharum officinarum sugarcane.

Commercial sugarcane hybrid cultivars currently in production are high-yielding, disease-resistant, millable canes and are the result of years of breeding work. In Hawaii, these commercial hybrids are quite distinct from many Saccharum officinarum canes still in existence that were brought to the islands and cultivated by the native Polynesians. The actual genetic relationships among the native...

Cloning, expression and characterization of sugarcane (Saccharum officinarum L.) transketolase.

Pentose phosphate pathway (PPP) composed of two functionally-connected phases, the oxidative and non-oxidative phase. Both phases catalysed by a series of enzymes. Transketolase is one of key enzymes of non-oxidative phase in which transfer two carbon units from fructose-6-phosphate to erythrose-4-phosphate and convert glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate to xylulose-5-phosphate. In plant, erythrose-4-ph...
